I'll be truthful, this stone had me worried some, it's got an internal fracture. So I thought I'd make me a pendant and if it broke, no big deal. On the other hand, it's amazingly gorgeous and the internal fracture makes the stone flash rainbows when viewed from the top or bottom.
Well, I dropped it on purpose, covered it with a heavy piece of leather and gave it a whack when setting, then used my hammer handpiece to set the stone. Nothing happened, it looks great!
So, if you want a really lovely chunk of aquamarine and aren't afraid to take a small chance, then this one is for you. Of course, if it does fracture in the future, then I'll make you another one, it's a win either way.
