I have to apologize for not keeping up with the shop very well. We're in process of rebuilding this site. However, I will get some new things up soon. Cruise through my gallery and if you see something you'd like let me know. I've also been moving my household and studio, both should be up and running after this weekend.

It's a wonderful spring in Minnesota! Lots going on here, selling the house, moving back to northern CA this summer. In between I am working in my studio. I've got a big batch of fine silver handmade earrings done and several more to go. This first batch is the medium size, which is just about dime size. Enjoy!

We had a great time in Boston for my son Grant's graduation from Berklee College of Music. This is the first time we've been together in at least five years. It couldn't have been a better week, food, fun and family, how can you go wrong?

Look! We got home from Boston and got a new puppy, this is baby Bode with Dandy. They are Cardigan Welsh Corgis, a wonderful herding breed, smart, very easy to train, loving, funny and great companions, willing to sit on the couch next to you after a day of herding or just chasing squirrels.

My friend says I need to put up a new pic. I was hoping for a new family pic but over Christmas when the kids were home my husband had a horrific accident. He's quite recovered now, but his face was technicolor. As long as he is well I can be sad about losing my Cruiser, who did a valiant job of saving his life in a high speed rollover. So, here I am in my new FJ Cruiser who informs me his name is Ace, may he roll much longer and as well.

I've got the kiln fired up to make some nice fine silver (PMC) pieces. I just loaded up a bunch of new earrings. These have the look of old sacred things. I'm just starting to work with some of the new Bronzclay too, it comes out of the kiln with a wonderful buttery gold color. I love it! Here's a pic of my first piece....

Here's the official pic of my boy Dandy the Champ! I'm so grateful to Diana and Mac and the great judges who saw through his flaws to his virtues. Champion Fernbriar First Class - yeah!

I've started uploading the Latin phrase series. I can custom create your favorite phrase if you'd like. All sterling with gemstone accents. This shows the different finish, front is high polished sterling right out of the tumbler, middle has a nice patina, back has been patinated and mostly polished for deep accents. Many thanks to Magnus Karlsson for use of his Latin phrases!

I'm BACK! This has been the most intense summer. I chaired a National figure skating competition and though at times I thought I would lose my mind, I didn't and it turned out really well, and was fun too! I spent today cleaning out my website and my workbench too. There are new things listed already and more to come. There will be a studio sale sometime in the next month. And I'm thinking about teaching some classes, beginning wire, metal clay and metal work. Let me know if you're interested... This is me and my daughter in the Garden of the Gods - Colorado, fun!

Here's a fine moon quartet, all of fine silver, one still shiny, one with patina, two with glimmers of 24k gold applied in the Keum-boo process. I'm having a very good time and this is a good time to do Keum-boo since it's very hot and keeps me warm.

I'm very pleased to have my jewelry at the Blue Heron Gallery & Studio, 168 East Third Street, Winona, Thursday-Saturday 10am to 5pm. If you haven't been there don't miss it. Julia Crozier has created a fabulous home for her art and that of other regional artists.

Where does the time go? I wish you all a New Year filled with love and laughter. Lots of skating going on right now which is keeping me from the mountain of new tools I got for Christmas and my birthday. A shiny new rolling mill will soon be producing some fun textured metal, but it'll probably be after Figure Skating Nationals, drat. Are these two cute or what?

I've had a very busy couple of weeks. It's been fun to see lots of old and new friends at the art shows. Now I'm back starting to restock so look for a few new things. Here's Dandy and Marnie, all tuckered out after a romp or two. Marnie comes to visit us and play.

This is my boy and his lovely breeder/handler/other Mom Diana winning his second major as a 10 month old in Sioux Falls, SD. This weekend he made his debute with Mac in the Junior Handler ring and helped her win 4th. Yeah Dandy!

All the hammered circles and discs you see have been made by me! The circles start as wire, then are wound around a mandrel, cut and fused with a torch. Then each one is hammered individually, which gets a little tricky when there are five or six fused together. The discs start as sheet metal, get punched into circles, holes are drilled, hammered and formed with a dapping block, polished and joined with other things. Most of the jump rings you see are also made by me! I'd be digging for gemstones in my backyard but can't get past the weeds! Enjoy your day!
